Exposition de Pascale Piron

From May 18 to August 4: PALIS – Exhibition of paintings by Pascale Piron at the Domaine du Tournefou. Since the 1990s, Pascale Piron has been creating paintings on canvas and paper. His work “speaks” in silence; there is no story – no figuration. It’s not about landscapes either, the question is often asked, but rather about interior spaces – inscapes. Successions of stages and experiences, his works, sometimes of large dimensions, are constructed by color – articulations between planes, balances and imbalances, variations of tones, superpositions, resonances… The formats are vertical, the proportions similar; they are developed little by little… over several months or even several years. In oil or watercolor and gouache, they are composed of strata – openings, transitions from the white of the canvas or paper to the color: Mars black, Venice red, cerulean blue, green earth, cadmium yellow, etc. laid in flat areas, irregularly, diluted or opaque, frequently starting with the brightest tones. The brush marks are more or less visible; a few lines, traced with an oil stick, structure, tighten the space of the painting. Build, destroy, return, erase, take over, cross out, cover, go further… His paintings are often complex, dense, linked to each other and evolve in search of the unexpected, of a sensation, of surpassing … Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. All public.
