Exposition “Désir d’Harmonie”

From June 10 to September 5: CHAOURCE – Collective exhibition “Desire for Harmony – Artists’ views around the poetry of Amadis Jamyn” in the church. It brings together 12 artists from Aube who have created works from the poems of Amadis Jamyn, a 16th century Chaourçois poet: Sylvie Bonal, Manuel Costa, Agnès Fabe, Alain Giacomini, Béatrice Haezaert, Virginie Marin-Leportier, Michel Marnat, Jean- Paul Méline, Naty, Angélina Richard, Annie Vincent-Buffet, Dominique Wittmann and Anne-France Badoui (the latter also being the organizer). In addition, Guy Cure, biographer of Amadis Jamyn, was a valuable ally. Finally, Clément Cuvillier, actor and narrator, will give a public reading of poems by Amadis Jamyn. “This exhibition was born in Chaource in September 2022 from the meeting of four artist friends, including the parishioner and Chaourçois artist Gabrielle Guinier. In the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Chaource, we read together the “Stances de l’impossible “, extraordinary poem by Amadis Jamyn. In this church that Amadis Jamyn knew and frequented well in the 16th century, is the Chapelle Saint-Jean-Décolasse, of which his family is the donor. So the idea came to us to to honor the poetry of Amadis Jamyn in this church in Chaource! And therefore, nothing better than to create! “As part of this exhibition, there will be free meetings and workshops open to all throughout the summer (June 20 and 27, July 4, 11, 18 and 25, August 1, 8 and 22). From 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: poetic stroll, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: writing and/or drawing workshop. The participating public can link the 2 activities or participate in only one of the two.
