From September 17 to December 4: PALIS – Exhibition “A solar artist” by Jeannine Guillou, at the Domaine du Tournefou. Opening hours: Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. All public. Free entrance. Starting with the exhibition of Jeannine Guillou and Nicolas de Staël at the Antibes museum “La vie dure” October 2011, the Tournefou will present works by Jeannine Guillou who was the wife of Nicolas de Staël. It was in 1937, during a trip to Morocco, that Nicolas de Staël met Jeannine Guillou. She is a painter too. For almost ten years (until Jeannine’s premature death in 1946), Jeannine Guillou’s work supported Nicolas de Staël’s with its “solar” impetus. The opening of this exhibition will be a festive and animated moment on dance music by the Clarinet Quartet “Baermann”. From Ferenc Farkas, via Astor Piazzola to Léonard Bernstein, without omitting a few traditional tunes, the evening will be conducive to the movement of the choreographic sounds of the clarinet family.
