Festival International d’Orgue

Date

  • the Sunday 31 May in 17h00

Sunday May 31: CHAOURCE – International Organ Festival at 5 p.m. in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church. With Géraud Guillemot, organist. Free participation. The Saint Jean Baptiste church in Chaource is home to many exceptional works of art. The organ is undoubtedly one of its jewels. Built in 1696, by Louis Lebé, this instrument has undergone a scrupulous restoration which allows it to “sound” as it sounded in the 17th century. Its interest is such that it is the subject of great activity. In particular, an international festival brings together organists from around the world who come to discover his unique style! Every Sunday, at 5 p.m., a concert is given in July and August but also for Easter, Ascension and Pentecost. In addition, many passing organists allow you to hear this organ, classified as a historic monument, almost every day from May to September, often in the late afternoon… Contact: geraud.guillemot123@orange.fr.
