Wednesday, August 12: AIX-EN-OTHE – Solar Eclipse Observation. From 4:00 PM at the Albert Dubois Media Library. In partnership with ARPA (Animations et Recherches en Pays d’Othe Aixois) and the Aube Departmental Media Library, we invite you to a special and friendly event centered around the partial solar eclipse taking place today. Come participate in scientific and creative workshops before observing this rare phenomenon at the end of the day. Bring your picnic lunch to continue the experience together (you can keep your food refrigerated during the workshops). Let’s walk cheerfully to the eclipse observation point. Program: 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Scientific and fun workshops about the Sun-Earth-Moon relationship with the Hubert Curien Science Center. Fun workshops about eclipses with ARPA. Creative astronomy workshops with the library team. 6:30 p.m. Departure on foot to the eclipse observation site: school bus parking lot, Place Charles Delaunay. 7:00 p.m. Welcome drinks offered on site by the Municipality. Distribution of protective glasses for safe eclipse viewing. Grassy, shaded area for picnicking and watching the eclipse. Small sound system on site for real-time tracking of the different phases of the eclipse by a member of ARPA. Telescopes available. WARNING: Watching an eclipse without adequate protection can cause serious permanent or partial eye damage. Sunglasses are not sufficient! Open to all.
