Wednesday August 14: CHAOURCE – Renaissance Visit – The Renaissance in Chaource under the reign of the Valois, a visit to the choir of history at 3 p.m. Come discover the “Beautiful 16th century” and the astonishing history of the Valois from François 1st to Henri III. A lady of the court, invited by the writer and poet Amadis Jamyn, comes to pay her respects at the tomb of Jacqueline de Laigne and Nicolas de Monstier in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Chaource. Discover with her the romantic story of this couple who left behind an extraordinary masterpiece, the Entombment. In his company, you will be able to appreciate the advances of this flourishing 16th century without forgetting the thousand and one stories of the Middle Ages brilliantly illustrated by the artistic heritage of the church of Chaource.
