Gravel – VTT Circuit du Val d’Armance

Route No. 6 – 27 km – 200 m elevation gain – 2h15 – easy. From the circular market hall of Ervy-le-Châtel, unique in Europe, wander through the narrow streets that transport you back to the Middle Ages. Take the time to admire the old prison, the Church of St. Peter in Chains, and its square, from which you’ll have a breathtaking view of the Armance Valley. Pass through the St. Nicholas feudal gate, the last medieval gate in the Aube region. Looking up under the gate, you can see the passage of the old portcullis. After descending to the foot of the town, you’ll follow part of the Armance River before plunging into the heart of the Val d’Armance forests. The mountain bike center is open year-round except during the general hunting season, which runs from mid-September to early March (a period defined annually by prefectural decree, available at the town hall).
