Sunday, May 24: VAREILLES (89) – Cabaret Conservatoire Auxerre. At 9 pm at the Maquis de Vareilles. 800 years separate their songs… 1st set: Troubadour for a day, troubadour forever, Emmanuel Bonnardot: Vocals, bowed vielles, rebec, jig, crwth, hurdy-gurdy… Emmanuel, a minstrel surprised in the 21st century, sings songs from the Middle Ages, accompanying himself on his many bowed vielles, as beautiful to see as they are to hear. “It is not good for a masterpiece to be fully known at first. Future generations must be given time to do so. Otherwise, they revise.” Jules Renard. 2nd set: Routine 66: Road trip for traditional music between Auvergne & Poitou, Philippe Bellet: vocals and guitar. Routine 66 is a brand new solo project by Philippe Bellet, for guitar, voice, and wooden plank. Like a road trip for traditional music between Auvergne and Poitou. A little road that winds through dances and songs collected from the Chaîne des Puys to the Marais Poitevin. Carrying in his luggage a guitar whose playing is inspired by Delta blues, Appalachian bluegrass, and psychedelic folk. A voice to make timeless lyrics resonate. And a wooden plank to build a bridge and dance on. Contact: +33 (0)3 86 88 31 15 / https://lemaquisdevareilles.fr
