Sunday, May 17: VAREILLES (89) – Cabaret at the Auxerre Conservatory. At 5:30 pm at the Maquis de Vareilles. “Chansons Siphonnées” (Chansons of the Siphoned): Living in a condominium isn’t always easy, especially when the building is full of singers… Through French songs ranging from Gaston Ouvrard to Olivia Ruiz, by way of Anne Sylvestre and Richard Gotainer, the merry troupe from the Song department of the Auxerre Conservatory has put together a show where they act, sing, and have fun with classics and lesser-known hits from the comedy repertoire, with one mission: to make you laugh or smile! With students from the Auxerre Conservatory of Music and Dance, a cabaret performed and directed by Gérald Lelièvre’s song accompaniment class, the participation of Etté Kim and Sara Chauveau’s piano class, and the support of Modern Jazz dance teacher Lou-Anne Soufflot.
