Eglise Saint Martin à Rigny-le-Ferron

Saint Martin’s Church. This church was likely rebuilt on the remains of an older building, dating from the 12th century. The chapels at the western ends are enclosed by beautiful Renaissance-style woodwork. The church houses several statues, including Saint Fiacre, dating from the 16th century, and Saint Syre in pilgrim’s garb. This statue is a true masterpiece of the Troyes school. Magnificent stained-glass windows attract attention, such as the Life of Saint Martin, depicting his birth and presentation to Constantine; the Our Lady of Boulogne, showing the Virgin Mary sailing towards Boulogne and the crowd awaiting the miracle; the Assumption of the Virgin; Mary Magdalene; the Passion; the Tree of Jesse; and the Descent from the Cross. You will also find a magnificent 16th-century Pietà. Keys available by contacting: +33(0)3 25 46 69 38 or +33(0)3 37 28 78 85 or +33(0)6 16 29 50 53. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.
