Le vélorail de l’Aube

Founded in 2018, ASL26 works to safeguard railway heritage by preserving 10 km of the former Troyes–Saint-Florentin line, which closed in 1996. Between Jeugny and Auxon, the association created the first railbike in the Aube department. It also maintains a significant railway heritage through its museum, which houses over 3,000 objects and documents. This project was made possible thanks to the commitment of more than 100 volunteers over eight years of work. Along the route, discover the history of this line, which contributed to the development of the villages it passed through. Photos, films, and period archives bear witness to its major role in the local economy. After decades overgrown with vegetation, this former railway line has been brought back to life and now offers a unique setting for a railbike ride in the heart of the Aube countryside. Practical information: Departure: Chamoy-Saint Phal station (follow the signs for “Vélorail de l’Aube”). Reservations are required and can be made on the ASL26 website at https://www.velorail-aube.fr/reservation-et-tarifs/. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure. For more information, please call 06 02 04 91 72 (9 am to 5 pm). Safety: Cycling is not recommended for people with physical limitations. They can travel comfortably seated. Very young children must be in a suitable child seat. Before boarding, each participant must sign a waiver agreeing to comply with safety instructions.
