Friday, May 29: LES LOGES-MARGUERON – Evening performance of “The Mad Venture” by and with Luc Lemonon at 8:00 p.m. In 1642, a handful of men and women left France, braving the unknown, to found a new colony in America. Driven by the hope of a better life, what they discovered upon setting foot on the Island of Montreal surpassed anything they had imagined: a magnificent natural landscape, relentless winters, encounters with the First Nations, and the harsh reality of building a new world. Through the eyes of a young colonist, we relive the enthusiasm, fears, and disillusionments of the first inhabitants of Ville-Marie. Between conflicts, unexpected friendships, and the quest for survival, this performance will immerse you in the founding epic of Montreal, where every stone laid is a gamble on the future.
